BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER: SPORTING & EVENT HOSPITALITY

Machielsen Brings 10 Years of Sports Marketing Experience to Proteus

 

ATLANTA, Georgia - July 11, 2011 – Proteus On-Demand Facilities announced today that Gordon Machielsen has been named Business Development Manager: Sporting & Event Hospitality.  Machielsen will concentrate on creating brand awareness and customer value to major sporting events while also bringing more focus towards premium client experiences.

For the past ten years, Machielsen has proven experience in the international golf world.  Machielsen, who also played numerous years on the Dutch Men’s National Golf Team, worked as Operations Manager at a premier golf club in The Netherlands. In addition to running daily operations, he was responsible for organizing various upscale events.  Following this, he became responsible for event management and sponsor acquisitions at ‘Made in Scotland’ where he developed strong international relations with sports management companies.  Later, the Dutch Golf Federation recruited him to serve as the Athletic Director and Player Development Coach.  During this time Machielsen played an instrumental part in achieving amateur golf success such as the 2006 Eisenhower Trophy (Men’s Amateur World Champions), the 2006 NCAA Women’s Champion (Dewi-Claire Schreefel) and the 2008 British Amateur Champion (Reinier Saxton).  In addition to the athletic achievements, he also helped create structures allowing companies to financially invest in the development of upcoming professional golfers.
