Due to planned and needed renovations, Harrison County, Mississippi implemented a unique solution. While updating one jail wing at a time, Harrison needed a transitional solution to house inmates during the construction process. Proteus On-Demand Facilities leased a three structure, 420 Male and Female bed facility to Harrison County, which included 18, 2-person segregation cells, for the past three and a half years to house both male and female inmates.
The turn-key solution included perimeter fencing, walkways, guard stations, bunk beds, mattresses, table and chairs, shower/restroom facilities, fire/alarm sprinkler system, insulated walls, carpet, fluorescent lighting and HVAC. With the help of Proteus, Harrison County was able to finish the remodeling process over an eighteen month period; eventually the transitional facilities will be removed as if they were never there.
